The Elm, Birch, Spruce, Coppice, Poplar, and Timber cover 8-inch and 12-inch heights in steel, composite, and soft toe, and the raised heel with an aggressive lug outsole is what forestry, utility, and general construction crews want on uneven ground. If your work is on flat concrete instead, the Wellington and 28 Series models on this page suit you better.
They run true to size for most buyers. The logger models can feel narrow through the toe box, so if you get toe cramping, move to an E or EE width before adding length. Carolina's widths run from D through 4E, which is wider than most work boot brands, and anyone wearing heavy socks often sizes up a half.
Resoling is possible on the welted models, which mainly covers the loggers and the domestic Goodyear-welted builds. Wedge-sole and cemented boots generally cannot be resoled the same way. Check the construction on the product page before you factor resoling into the cost, or have a cobbler confirm the welt on a pair you already own.
Carolina builds part of its line at its own factory in Martinsburg, Pennsylvania, while the rest of the catalog is imported. Origin varies by model rather than by style, so check the individual product page if American manufacturing is a requirement. The Carolina USA Made collection groups the domestic models together.
