Frequently Asked Questions
LaCrosse's women's line centers on rubber and neoprene hunt and work boots, including the Alpha Agility, Venom snake boots, Cold Snap, Ridgeback, Estuary waders, and the Burly Aero work boots. These are built for wet, muddy, and cold conditions where a fully waterproof rubber boot outperforms leather. Insulated and snake-protective models are included.
Rubber and neoprene are fully waterproof by nature, hold and give off little scent, and hose clean of mud and blood in seconds, which is why they are favored for hunting and wet outdoor work. LaCrosse builds them with neoprene that insulates and flexes, plus heavy insulation on the cold-weather models for genuine winter use.
Several do. The Venom II and Alpha Agility snake models use a tall, bite-resistant shaft designed to stop fangs from reaching your lower leg. If you hunt or work in snake country, look for snake protection stated in the product title, since not every model is built for it.
From uninsulated up past 1200g across this collection. Match the gram weight to temperature and activity: lighter for active and warmer conditions, heavier for sitting still in cold. Too much insulation for your activity just makes you sweat. Gram weight is listed on each product page.
Snug through the instep with your toes free, fitted over the sock you will wear. Because there are no laces, the instep and neoprene hold your foot, and a little heel movement is normal on a tall pull-on. Fit for a heavier sock if you will wear one in the cold, since crushing your foot restricts the circulation that keeps you warm.
Rinse off mud and dry them out of direct sun and away from heaters, since UV and heat break down rubber and neoprene over time. Store them upright in a cool place. Treated well, a good pair of rubber boots lasts many seasons.
