One to three weeks of real wear, which is normal for heavy full-grain leather on a welt rather than a defect. The leather has to soften and take the shape of your foot. Wear them in shorter stretches over the first week. Once broken in they hold that shape for years, which is part of what you are paying for.

Carolina's own plant in Pennsylvania, in operation since 1955 and shared with other brands in the H.H. Brown group. It is one of a small number of remaining domestic work boot factories, which is why the domestic line is comparatively short: this is capacity-limited production rather than a marketing selection.
