A steel safety toe and triple-rib steel shank deliver strong protection, and welt construction lets the boot be resoled and rebuilt rather than replaced.
Why Choose the CA5823?
All the protection and all-weather performance of Carolina's Elm insulated logger, in a black leather finish for wearers who prefer it.

Frequently Asked Questions
What sizes and widths is the CA5823 available in?
We carry the black Elm in Medium and Wide, in sizes 7 through 14, with half sizes through 11½. Note that unlike the brown CA5821, this colorway is not offered in Extra Wide — if you need 4E, choose the brown.
Is 600g of insulation enough, or should I look at 800g?
600g suits cold, damp work where you stay moving — warm without overheating on a mild afternoon. Step up to 800g if you're stationary for long stretches in hard cold, since insulation ratings assume your own movement generates some of the heat.
Can it be resoled?
Yes. Welt construction stitches the outsole on rather than cementing it, so a cobbler can replace the lug sole when it wears through.
