Why a Wedge Sole
A wedge puts the whole sole on the ground, spreading your weight with no separate heel to catch on a form edge or a rung. On concrete, decking, and finished floors that's a real advantage — which is why wedges dominate framing, concrete, and warehouse work. On loose dirt or slopes, a lugged heel grips better.
An All-Around Goodyear Welt
The welt is stitched the full perimeter of the boot rather than partway, which is the most durable and most rebuildable way to attach a sole. Most wedge boots are cemented — when the sole wears through, the boot is finished. This one goes to a cobbler instead. On a boot you'll wear on concrete every day, that's what decides how many years you get.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the CA7069 be resoled?
Yes, repeatedly. An all-around Goodyear welt stitches the outsole to the upper around the full perimeter, so a cobbler can cut the stitching, replace the wedge, and re-stitch it. That's uncommon on a wedge boot.
Do these need breaking in?
Less than most. The Ortholite® insert and EVA insole give out-of-the-box comfort underfoot, and a wedge has no heel to fight. The leather still softens over the first weeks.
What is a moc toe, and does it fit differently?
A moccasin-style toe: the upper is stitched in a U-shape across the front rather than seamed at the tip. It gives a rounder, roomier toe box than a standard last, which is much of why moc toes are known for comfort.
Are Carolina's union-built boots actually made in the USA?
Yes, with the qualification Carolina states plainly: assembled in their Martinsburg, Pennsylvania factory by members of UFCW Local 1776, using globally sourced components.
