What does “100% non-metallic upper” mean?
There's no metal hardware in the upper — no steel eyelets or lace hooks. Combined with the composite toe, that removes the metal from everything above the sole. Carolina does not publish a shank material for this style, so if you need a fully metal-free boot for a detector-controlled access point, confirm before ordering rather than assuming.
Is the CA2320 EH or SD rated?
EH — electrical hazard. It insulates against contact with live circuits. It is not static-dissipative. If your work requires SD, the Workline oxford CA2321 carries that rating instead.
Why a composite toe over steel?
Both meet the same ASTM impact and compression thresholds. Composite weighs less — which is the whole point of this boot — and transfers far less cold into the toe box.
How does cement construction affect the boot?
The outsole is bonded directly to the upper rather than stitched through a welt. That's much of what keeps this boot light, and it lets the sole flex with your foot from the first day, with no break-in underfoot.
How long does the waterproofing last?
