How Much Warmth Is 200 Grams?
200g Thinsulate™ is the light end of insulated. It takes the edge off a cold morning and works through fall and spring without cooking your feet by afternoon. For sustained sub-freezing work, step up to 400g or higher.
What Direct Attach Means
The outsole is molded directly onto the upper rather than stitched through a welt. The bond is completely watertight, which is why it pairs with a seam-sealed waterproof boot.
Why Choose the CA7145?
Waterproof, lightly insulated, EH rated, 8" of ankle coverage — the basics done properly, with no safety toe to pay for.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the CA7145 true to size?
Carolina generally runs true to size — order the size you wear in sneakers. The Journeyman comes in D and 2E; if you're between widths, take the wider one.
Does it have a safety toe?
No. The CA7145 is a soft-toe boot and does not meet ASTM F2413 impact and compression requirements. The steel-toe CA7545 does.
How much warmth does 200g give you?
It is the lightest insulated weight Carolina builds, and it suits active work in fall and spring rather than sustained cold. If you are standing still outdoors through winter, 400g or 600g is the better match — insulation only traps the heat you are already producing.
Is it slip resistant?
Carolina rates the outsole as oil resisting. It does not carry a slip-resistance rating on this style — if you need certified slip resistance, check a boot that lists it explicitly.
