A Shank You Can Dig With
A triple-rib steel shank runs the length of the arch and resists twist. Put your boot on a spade edge and drive it into packed ground: a soft-shanked boot flexes and your arch takes the load. This one doesn't.
What Barnyard Acid Resistance Actually Does
Manure, urine, and fertilizer are chemically aggressive. They attack ordinary leather, and a boot built for the jobsite will still come apart in a dairy barn or a feedlot. Acid-resistant leather is treated to withstand that exposure.
A Welt You Can Resole
The outsole is stitched to the upper through a welt rather than bonded. That seam can be cut and re-stitched, so the boot outlives its first sole — usually its second, too.
