Iron Heel, Not a Wedge
The Iron Heel outsole keeps a defined heel breast — useful on ladders, slopes, and uneven ground where a flat wedge slides. Dual-density polyurethane gives a firm base under a softer wearing layer.
Cushioning That Holds Up
Poron® is a cellular urethane that rebounds rather than crushing flat, which is why it's used in performance insoles. Combined with a removable PU footbed, it's the reason this boot stays comfortable well past the point where a foam insole has given up.
Why Choose the CA7016?
A comfortable, American-made, resoleable 8" soft moc-toe boot for all-day wear on varied ground.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the CA7016 have a safety toe?
No. It's a soft moc-toe boot with no toe cap and no ASTM impact or compression rating. The steel-toe version is the Ferric CA7516.
Can it be resoled?
Yes. Welt construction stitches the Iron Heel outsole to the upper rather than bonding it, so a cobbler can replace it when the tread wears down.
What is a moc toe, and does it fit differently?
A moccasin-style toe: the upper is stitched in a U-shape across the front rather than seamed at the tip. It produces a rounder, roomier toe box than a standard last, which is much of why moc toes are known for comfort.
Are these really made in the USA?
Assembled in Carolina's own Martinsburg, Pennsylvania factory by members of UFCW Local 1776, using globally sourced components — union labor and domestic assembly.
Is it waterproof or insulated?
The CA7016 is an uninsulated leather boot without a waterproof membrane, which keeps it comfortable across three seasons. For wet ground, Carolina builds boots with a sealed SCUBALINER™.
Does the EH rating still apply when the boots are wet?
Treat it as reduced. EH testing is performed under dry conditions; moisture, damp leather, and worn outsoles all degrade insulation. EH footwear is secondary protection — never a substitute for de-energizing a circuit or using primary PPE.
