The Ferric USA CA7516 is an 8" steel moc-toe work boot, union-made in Carolina's Martinsburg, Pennsylvania factory. Goodyear welt construction, a Poron® cushioning insole, and an Iron Heel dual-density outsole make it an all-around workhorse built to be rebuilt.

Made to Be Rebuilt
A Goodyear welt stitches the outsole to the upper through a leather welt, so a cobbler can strip and replace the sole without disturbing the boot. On a union-made boot at this price, resoling is what turns a purchase into a decade.
Why Unlined
Leaving out the lining keeps the boot cooler and lets the leather mold to your foot rather than sitting behind a fabric layer. It's the reason an unlined boot feels like yours after a season.
Why Choose the CA7516?
A rebuildable, EH-rated, American-made steel moc-toe boot with real toe room — for workers who intend to keep a boot rather than replace it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the CA7516 waterproof?
Carolina builds this boot unlined, so it breathes rather than seals. Leather alone sheds a light shower, and conditioning the upper a few times a year improves its water resistance. If you stand in water, choose a boot with a sealed membrane.
What does the 90-degree heel breast do?
It squares off the front face of the heel instead of tapering it, giving you a defined edge to set against a ladder rung or a roof batten. It's the same reason logger boots use a sharp heel — a rounded heel slides off the bar under load.
Can it be resoled?
Yes, and this is the boot's central argument. Goodyear welt construction means the outsole is stitched to a leather welt rather than cemented on, so it can be replaced repeatedly by any competent cobbler.
What does a broad moc toe change about the fit?
A moc-toe pattern stitches the vamp up and over the toe box, which raises and widens it. Combined with Carolina's broad toe last, that gives noticeably more room across the ball of the foot and above the toes than a standard round-toe safety boot at the same size.
Does the EH rating still apply when the boots are wet?
Treat it as reduced, and more so on an unlined boot. EH testing is conducted under dry conditions, and without a membrane the leather wets through faster, degrading the insulation the rating depends on. EH footwear is secondary protection — never a substitute for de-energizing a circuit or using primary PPE.
