The Iron River Series carries a genuine Gore-Tex membrane, which is a well-known, independently tested standard for breathability alongside water resistance. Most of the rest of Thorogood's lineup uses the brand's own waterproof construction, which keeps water out just as effectively but doesn't carry the same third-party breathability testing.
