Warm and Dry in the Cold
Thinsulate™ microfibers trap air without absorbing water, so 800 grams keeps working even when the leather is soaked — and the sealed SCUBALINER™ keeps the water outside in the first place.
Heavy-Duty Support
A triple-rib steel shank and welt construction give the CA9028 a stable, rebuildable platform, and the one-piece rubber lug outsole grips uneven, frozen ground.
Why Choose the CA9028?
A serious cold-weather work boot — heavily insulated, waterproof, and built on a welt platform you can resole.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is 800g the right amount of insulation for me?
800g is built for standing still in genuinely hard cold — outdoor utility, winter yard work, cold storage. If your work keeps you moving through the day, the non-insulated CA8028 on the same platform is the better match, since insulation ratings assume your own movement supplies part of the heat.
Does the CA9028 have a safety toe?
No. It's a soft plain-toe boot with no ASTM impact or compression rating. The composite-toe version is the CA9528.
Can it be resoled?
Yes. Welt construction stitches the outsole to the upper, so the lug sole can be replaced when the tread wears down — worth having on a boot this heavily built.
How long does the waterproofing last?
The SCUBALINER™ is a sealed membrane rather than a surface coating, so it doesn't wash off. Conditioning the leather and keeping the seams clean is what keeps it working over the life of the boot.
Does the EH rating still apply when the boots are wet?
Treat it as reduced. EH testing is performed under dry conditions; moisture, damp leather, and worn outsoles all degrade insulation. EH footwear is secondary protection — never a substitute for de-energizing a circuit or using primary PPE.
