Why a Wedge Sole
A wedge puts the whole sole on the ground, spreading your weight with no separate heel to catch on a form edge or a rung. On concrete, decking, and finished floors that's a real advantage — which is why wedges dominate framing, concrete, and warehouse work. On loose dirt or slopes, a lugged heel grips better.
A Welted Wedge, Which Is Rare
Most wedge boots are cemented, so when the sole wears through the boot is finished. This one is welted: the outsole is stitched to the upper and a cobbler can replace it. On a boot you'll wear on concrete every day, that's what decides how many years you get.
Why Choose the CA7046?
A comfortable, resoleable moc-toe wedge for long days on hard, flat surfaces — for work that doesn't require a safety toe.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this boot have a safety toe?
No. The CA7046 is a soft moc-toe boot with no toe cap and no ASTM impact or compression rating, so it won't satisfy a site requirement for protective footwear.
What is the EZ-ON fit system?
Carolina's quick-entry lacing. You set the fit once and get in and out without working the laces loose and re-tightening them — useful if you're on and off equipment, or in and out of a clean area, through the day.
Can the CA7046 be resoled?
Yes. Welt construction stitches the wedge outsole to the upper rather than bonding it, so a cobbler can replace it when the tread wears down. That's uncommon on a wedge boot.
What is a moc toe, and does it fit differently?
A moccasin-style toe: the upper is stitched in a U-shape across the front rather than seamed at the tip. It gives a rounder, roomier toe box than a standard last, which is much of why moc toes are known for comfort.
Is it waterproof?
The CA7046 is a leather boot without a waterproof membrane, which keeps it light and breathable across three seasons. Conditioning the upper a few times a year improves its water resistance; brush the suede panels dry rather than washing them.
Does the EH rating still apply when the boots are wet?
Treat it as reduced. EH testing is performed under dry conditions; moisture, damp leather, and worn outsoles all degrade insulation. EH footwear is secondary protection — never a substitute for de-energizing a circuit or using primary PPE.
