Work with confidence with the protection of a steel safety toe cap and our waterproof SCUBALINER™ to help keep your feet dry all day long. The Pillow Cushion™ footbed feels great underfoot, and a shovel-worthy, triple bar steel shank provides added support. This boot's leather has a rugged finish that gives it a handsome, distressed look over time.

What Makes It a Logger
The raised, tapered heel and aggressive one-piece lug outsole bite into soft ground and hook onto rungs, while a triple-rib steel shank resists the twist of standing on an edge — built for slopes and climbing rather than flat concrete.
Protected, Dry, Rebuildable
A steel safety toe guards against impact and compression, the sealed SCUBALINER™ keeps feet dry, and welt construction means the sole gets replaced rather than the boot.
Why Choose the CA9823?

Frequently Asked Questions
What actually makes a boot a “logger”?
The heel and the shank. A logger has a tall, tapered heel that digs into slopes and catches ladder rungs, an aggressive lug tread, and a stiff shank so your arch doesn't collapse when you're standing on a narrow edge. On flat concrete all day, a wedge sole is the more comfortable choice.
Can the CA9823 be resoled?
Yes. Welt construction stitches the lug outsole to the upper rather than bonding it, so a cobbler can replace it when the tread wears down. On a logger the sole almost always fails before the leather does, which makes this the feature that decides the boot's lifespan.
How long does the waterproofing last?
The SCUBALINER™ is a sealed membrane rather than a surface coating, so it doesn't wash off. But waterproof construction requires upkeep and isn't guaranteed for the life of the boot — flex creases and abrasion are what eventually let water through.
