SD and EH Are Not the Same Thing — and This Boot Is SD
An electrical hazard (EH) boot insulates you from a live circuit. A static dissipative (SD) boot does the opposite: it conducts static charge off your body and into the floor at a controlled rate. The two are mutually exclusive under ASTM F2413, and the CA4545 is SD. Do not treat it as EH protection.
What Barnyard Acid Resistance Actually Does
Manure, urine, and fertilizer are chemically aggressive. They attack ordinary leather, and a boot built for the jobsite will still come apart in a dairy barn or a feedlot. Acid-resistant leather is treated to withstand that exposure.
Heat-Resisting Outsole
The outsole compound is rated to resist heat as well as oil and slip — relevant on hot asphalt, near ovens and kilns, and around welding. For sustained heat exposure, choose footwear built specifically for it.
