Iron Heel, Not a Wedge
The Iron Heel outsole keeps a defined heel breast — an advantage on ladders, slopes, and uneven ground where a flat wedge slides. Dual-density polyurethane puts a firm base under a softer wearing layer.
Cushioning That Holds Up
Poron® is a cellular urethane that rebounds instead of compressing flat, which is why it turns up in performance insoles. Paired with a removable memory-foam PU insert, it keeps the boot comfortable well past the point where a plain foam insole has given up.
Why Choose the CA7514?

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a moc toe, and does it fit differently?
A moccasin-style toe: the upper is stitched in a U-shape across the front rather than seamed at the tip. It produces a rounder, roomier toe box than a standard last. On the CA7514 the toe is also built on a broad last, so there's genuine forefoot room even with a steel cap.
Can the CA7514 be resoled?
Yes. Leather Goodyear welt construction stitches the Iron Heel outsole to the upper through a leather welt, so a cobbler can replace the sole repeatedly. A well-kept pair outlasts several cemented boots.
Are these really made in the USA?
Assembled in Carolina's own Martinsburg, Pennsylvania factory by members of UFCW Local 1776, using globally sourced components — union labor and domestic assembly.
Can I use my own orthotics?
Yes. The PU footbed insert lifts out. The Poron® cushioning insole stays put beneath it, so you keep the shock absorption either way.
Is it waterproof or insulated?
Neither. The CA7514 is an unlined, non-insulated boot built for breathability and a broken-in feel. Some listings elsewhere describe a waterproof lining in error.
