Lightweight, Waterproof Protection
The low 5" profile and carbon composite toe keep the shoe light and agile, while the sealed SCUBALINER™ membrane keeps feet dry. An abrasion-resisting mudguard and 4x4 TigerTip® toe extend its life.
All-Terrain Grip
A heavy-duty slip-resisting rubber outsole delivers rugged all-terrain traction, and an external heel counter adds stability.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is carbon composite different from standard composite?
Both are non-metallic and both meet the same ASTM I/C thresholds. A carbon fiber weave reaches that rating with less material, so the toe cap is lighter and slightly less bulky than a standard composite cap — which is why it shows up on hikers rather than heavy loggers.
What is the TigerTip®?
A high-abrasion rubber bumper wrapped over the toe. It protects the leather from scuffing rather than your foot from impact — the carbon composite cap underneath does that — and it meaningfully extends the shoe's service life.
Is it waterproof?
Yes. Carolina's SCUBALINER™ is a sealed membrane behind the entire upper, mesh panels included, rather than a surface coating that wears off.
Can I put my own orthotics in it?
Yes. The Double Tuff footbed lifts out. The CA4551 is EH rated rather than static-dissipative, so swapping the footbed doesn't put an SD rating at risk.
