Frequently Asked Questions
The rating and the construction underneath. Lifestyle boots have no safety toe and no ASTM certification, and they are built on lighter platforms tuned for pavement rather than jobsites. The silhouettes are shared with the work and trail lines, which is the appeal. If you need a boot for a site with a PPE requirement, these will not satisfy it.
It takes Danner's classic logger profile, with its raised heel and 6-inch height, and rebuilds it for pavement and daily wear. You get the recognizable shape without the heavy lugged outsole and stiff shank that make a real logger tiring on flat ground. It is offered in a standard build and in a GORE-TEX waterproof version.
For work with no rated-toe requirement, yes, and plenty of people do. What they are not built for is abrasion, standing on ladder rungs, or anywhere a site policy names ASTM F2413. If your employer requires a rated toe, look at the work range instead. See our Danner work boots range.

Generally true to size and closer to a normal shoe fit than the traditional work lasts, since they are built on modern platforms. Without a safety cap taking up volume at the front, they also feel roomier than a rated boot in the same size. Available sizes and widths are listed on each product page.
Less than the work and heritage models, since the leather is generally lighter and the construction more flexible. Expect a few days to a week rather than a few weeks. The chukkas and mocs in the Forest family are comfortable close to immediately; the Logger 917 takes a little longer as the leather softens.
It depends on the construction, and most of this line is cemented rather than stitchdown, so they are generally built to be replaced rather than rebuilt. If a rebuildable boot matters to you, look at the USA-made stitchdown models in the work and hiking ranges instead. Check the construction on the product page before assuming.
Yes, including the Eastwood, the Tramline 917 GTX, the Jag II, and the Trail 2650 Mesh, built on women's lasts rather than sized down from men's boots. See our women's leather boots range for the wider set of options.
