Frequently Asked Questions
Can the CA3057 be resoled?
Yes, unusually for a value-priced boot, the Installer uses welt construction, so a cobbler can replace the outsole when it wears down and the boot can serve well past its first sole.
Is it fully waterproof?
Yes, Carolina's sealed SCUBALINER™ membrane runs through the boot, so it handles wet ground and rain, not just splashes.
Does the Installer have a safety toe?
It is a soft-toe boot with no ASTM F2413 toe rating. It is Electrical Hazard rated, up to 18,000 volts at 60Hz for one minute without leakage.
What is the Installer built for?
General work that does not require a safety toe — a rugged, waterproof 8-inch boot with a steel shank and an oil- and slip-resisting rubber outsole.
How does the Installer fit?
Carolina generally runs true to size — order the size you wear in sneakers, and choose Wide if you normally need an EE width.
How do I care for the Installer?
Knock off dirt, wipe the leather clean, let the boot dry away from direct heat, and condition the leather every few months. Conditioning keeps the leather supple without affecting the SCUBALINER membrane.
