A moc toe, short for moccasin toe, is built by wrapping the upper leather around and over the front of the foot and hand-stitching it in a U shape across the top. That produces a toe box that is rounder, taller, and roomier than a conventionally lasted boot. The visible U-stitch is the seam holding the wrap together, which is why it is structural rather than decoration.
